R. L. Burnside was an American blues singer, guitarist and songwriter out of Oxford, Mississippi. He released many blues albums throughout his career, which recieved a major boost thanks to his "A Ass Pcket of Whiskey" album done with Jon Spencer that earned high praise from many contemporary music legends.
