Born and raised in Tennessee, Dotte West was a singer/songwriter and actress who died early, at the age of 58.

West was one of the earliest female country singers as the industry was dominated by male singers at the time. She went on to win numerous awards, including the 1965 Grammy for Best Female Country Vocal Performance for "Here Comes My Baby".
